Inspiration 7 |
A graphic organizer will be created in Inspiration. The organizer will be broken down into topic categories (travel days). Each category has a series of questions. Students will link to the Hotlist and choose a website to read information about a country of their choice. Students will copy/paste the answers and URL address onto a notepad attached to each question. Students will transfer the outline into MS Word. Note: specific questions will be collaborated with the 3rd grade teacher. |

Students will add text to the transferred outline to create a personalized daily journal about their country. Students will format the word document into paragraphs (1.5 line spacing, aligned left, 1st line indent) and insert a story title. Students will check for errors and format in a style that is readable. Note: Writing FCA’s will be provided by the 3rd grade teacher. Specifically students will be learning sequential writing. |

MS Photo Story |
Students will collaborate and create a Photo Story on “Where (in the world) am I?” Students will completed a “Country Libs” in MS Word and print it out. Students will work with partners to practice reading their “Country Libs”. Students will record their “Country Libs” and merge with an image of their country maps. Students will present this project to the entire school during Kimball’s “monthly community meeting”. |

MS Excel |
An electronic rubric will be created in MS Excel for the 3rd grade teacher to use. Based on the student scores of the project averages will be calculated. As an additional option, this rubric maybe transferred onto a PDA for portability if available through the district. Note: Objectives and assessments for the rubric will be created based on collaboration with the 3rd grade teacher |
